About The James Vanderlin Co.

The James Vanderlin Company, owned by Jim and Pennie Vanderlin, is a combination of two branch companies: Vantiques Restorations and Nippon Panels (pronounced nip-on). Known for their refinishing work and panel creations, The James Vanderlin Company has grown in success over the years and can complete every kind of woodworking available.

In 1982, the Vanderlins started Vantiques Furniture Restorations, bringing together Jim’s hobby of refinishing furniture and his managerial experience. Vantiques Restoration specializes in the restoration and preservation of heirloom furniture, collectables, and pianos. Well-known for their work on Steinways and restoring antique furniture, 70% of their business is repeat or referral. Good word spreads like wild fire, so don’t ask us, ask our past customers.

In 2007, the Vanderlin’s upgraded their company by purchasing a larger building which housed Nippon Panel Company. The Nippon Panel Company, a business well-known in Northcentral Pennsylvania for producing quality plaques and wooden products since 1922, was a great addition to the James Vanderlin Company. Nippon creates special bases, plaques, taxidermy panels, directories for professional buildings, frames, display units and desk accessories.

Jim’s decades of experience adds a nice synergy to the Nippon Panel business because the James Vanderlin Company continually upgrades their finishing process allowing the panels to be sealed with perfection. For instance, Nippon makes the award plaques for the Little League World Series franchise, while the Vantiques finishing department brings together the materials to spray the Pennsylvania hard woods with a finish that accents the grain of the wood giving it a finish that will last for years. The two companies work side-by-side to produce quality products. Recently the shop has worked on the organ from the Jack Palance estate auction, a kit-made harpsichord for a Lewisburg customer, and has restored church pews for the Cedar Run, PA Methodist Church.

The James Vanderlin Company has no minimum order or size restrictions and can easily work in large sizes. Send in a sketch or finished drawing for a free estimate.

We take pride in our workmanship and provide prompt service that will make your finished products distinctive. In addition to Jim’s quarter century experience refinishing wood, Vantiques Restorations is fortunate to have the expertise of loyal long-time employees, Rick Bolay, Chris Cook, and Corey Green.
